We took Lexie to an out-of-the-way spot in industrial Northwest Portland, where we found some awesome graffiti and popping colors. Lexie brought her old-school film camera with her for a prop, and she was full of questions about double-exposures and other cool photography techniques.
We were driving from the first location to another we had in mind, when Josh and I almost simultaneously spotted a lot filled with these popping yellow flowers, weathered old concrete and rust-covered pipes. The instant I opened my mouth to say, “that looks awesome,” Josh emphatically told me to pull over, which I immediately did. It was a pretty exciting find.
What we didn’t tell you about Lexie? She also has a secret life as an underground graffiti artist!
…okay, so we’re kidding, but she did all right at acting the part. 😉
If you like color, there’s a lot of beautiful graffiti art to be had in Portland, if you know where to look for it.
