Several Portland area schools seem to be pushing back their yearbook deadlines for 2010, and I, for one, am a fan: because of that, I had the opportunity to do a senior shoot in the snow! Melissa is a Class of 2010 senior with a background in ice skating and other winter sports, so she was excited about the idea of shooting in the snow. So, we planned an afternoon to make the trip out to Timberline Lodge so we could shoot her senior session there.
It was a windy and (obviously!) cold day on the mountain, but the sun was out and there were a lot of fantastic spaces in, out, and around the Lodge to work with, and Melissa was a trooper in dealing with the cold temperatures. In fact, she dealt with the conditions better than I did–I was shivering in my heavy winter coat and gloves, while she sat in the snow in a light sweater and was smiling the whole time!
