And, we’re finally back with a senior portrait session! We had a bit of a break, because we don’t like to reveal the results of our senior shoots until the seniors themselves have seen the photos… fortunately, now that we have more portrait viewings behind us, we’ll have some fun posts coming very soon.

We took Kate out around downtown Portland, starting in the Park Blocks and eventually working our way into the Pearl, with a few random stops along the way. Kate has a longtime history of playing basketball, which wasn’t surprising when I realized that she was taller than both Josh and I! She’s also active in the performing arts at her school, so she took to the camera pretty quickly, and brought some great intensity in her eyes that could’ve put a runway model to shame. We had an awesome time exploring together, and she was lively and fun to chat with along the way.

Working with Satheara was a kick in the pants–she has a background in performing and a LOT of energy, so it didn’t take long for her to warm up to the camera. We got some fun shots in the urban setting of North Portland, and then went back to the studio to explore a cleaner look with bright colors. She wanted to get a few more sedate and “serious” shots of herself, at first, but her playful spirit took over pretty quickly, and we both had a great time with the session!

Antonio was one of my senior reps for the Class of 2010, and wanted to explore a few different styles, but he was particularly interested in men’s fashion. So, my session with him began with a fashion-inspired setup in our Portland photography studio, and he fell right into the relaxed-yet-stylish feel of the shot. We also had the unfortunate luck of scheduling Antonio’s session during what turned out to be THE hottest week of the summer! But, I didn’t hear any complaints from him: he had a great time during our shoot, and was all smiles and energy, in spite of the 100+ degree weather. He was definitely a trooper, and he did a great job of representing us at Century High School in Hillsboro.
